Official-source update

The fragment is not the full-length peptide

FDA’s July 2026 briefing defines TB-500 as an N-acetylated seven-amino-acid fragment of the 43-amino-acid thymosin beta-4. Results for the full-length molecule or an unacetylated fragment cannot automatically be assigned to TB-500. FDA PDF pp. 25 ↗

More findings and the sources behind them

Selected FDA advisory-briefing sections, not a final agency ruling. The source date identifies the committee meeting (July 23–24 for the 2026 packages), not a new approval or final decision.

Wound-healing claims lacked clinical evidence in the assessment

FDA reported no identified clinical information showing administration of the nominated TB-500 substances to patients for wound healing or another condition. This remains a dated, source-specific assessment. FDA PDF pp. 24 ↗

Product reports do not substitute for a safety study

The briefing found no clinical pharmacokinetic studies and described reports involving blended TB-500/BPC-157 products without safety assessments. These do not establish a TB-500-specific safety profile. FDA PDF pp. 30, 31 ↗

The toxicology gap is separate from efficacy

FDA reported no identified nonclinical toxicity studies for the nominated free base or acetate. That missing evidence should not be interpreted as either demonstrated safety or proof of a specific human harm. FDA PDF pp. 30 ↗

What remains to be checked

  • Check subsequent advisory records and any final FDA action separately from the staff briefing.
  • Retrieve and appraise the original human reports and proposed formulation or route; agency search findings are dated and do not establish a complete worldwide literature review.
Source dates and review coverage

PDF citations use file page numbers. Named webpage sections and registry fields identify the portions read. These are selected readings, not complete source coverage.
