Mazdutide versus dulaglutide: diabetes in China

NCT05606913 ↗

Mazdutide · Dulaglutide

What was tested?

Mazdutide compared with dulaglutide in Chinese adults with type 2 diabetes inadequately controlled on oral glucose-lowering medicines. ↗

Registered primary question: Change in HbA1c from baseline to week 28. ↗

What the reviewed report found

Journal year 2026 · Article summary reviewed 2026-09-15

Between-group HbA1c differences favored the two mazdutide groups by 0.24 and 0.30 percentage points; reductions in percentage body-weight change were 3.78 and 5.76 percentage points greater than with dulaglutide. Gastrointestinal events were more frequent with mazdutide.↗

Keep in context: This active-comparator trial concerns selected treatment groups in a specified diabetes population. It does not rank the drugs across other conditions, treatment settings or long-term outcomes. ↗↗

Type 2 diabetes: active comparator

Design in the report
Randomized phase 3 comparison with a specified dulaglutide regimen over 28 weeks.↗
Participants in the report
731 adults in China with type 2 diabetes participated.↗
Limitations
The comparison is specific to the tested regimens and population, not a ranking against all uses of the comparator or other medicines.↗
